Emergency Dentistry in Stamford, CT

We understand that emergencies can happen at any time. Some dental injuries require immediate treatment, and when that is the case, the team at Regency Family Dental will work to see you as quickly as possible.

Some of the most common dental injuries include broken, chipped or knocked out teeth, toothaches, abscesses and lost crowns. These may be a result of chewing something hard, a sports-related injury, a fall, or some other type of accident. If immediate attention is required, call us as soon as possible. Try to stay calm, and focus on stopping any bleeding and protecting the tooth or area affected. If an emergency is life-threatening, dial 911 or go to a hospital emergency room.

Read below for information about how to handle some of the most common dental emergencies until you see the dentist.

Knocked-Out Tooth

Hold the tooth by the crown and rinse it. Do not remove tissue that’s attached to the tooth. Place tooth in milk or salt water. Call our office immediately at (203) 323-1186.

Toothache

Rinse with warm water. Use floss if there is food lodged between teeth. A cold compress on the cheek can relieve pain. Do not put aspirin on the tooth or gums. Call our office immediately at (203) 323-1186.

Chipped Tooth

Rinse with warm water. Save any pieces of the tooth and bring them to the dentist. Use gauze for any bleeding. Apply a cold compress to the painful area. Call our office immediately at (203) 323-1186.

Stuck Object

Try dental floss to gently remove the object. Do not use pins or other implements to try to remove the object. Call our office immediately at (203) 323-1186.

Lost Crown

If your crown falls off, bring it with you to our office. If you have pain, you can try to reaffix the crown using toothpaste. Call our office immediately at (203) 323-1186.
